How your personal data is collected, used and protected — in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

What data I collect

  • Contact form: when you write through the contact form, I receive your name, email address, optional phone number and your message.
  • Newsletter: if you sign up, your email address is stored to send you updates. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • Technical data: standard server and security data (such as IP address) processed by the hosting and spam-protection providers below.

Why I use it & legal basis

Contact data is used solely to respond to your enquiry (legal basis: your consent / steps prior to a service). Newsletter data is used to send you updates (legal basis: consent). Technical data is used to keep the site secure and available (legitimate interest).

Who processes your data

I use trusted third-party processors who only handle your data on my behalf:

  • Basin (usebasin.com) — receives and stores contact form submissions.
  • Mailchimp (Intuit) — newsletter sign-ups and email delivery.
  • Cloudflare — website hosting and delivery.
  • Google reCAPTCHA — protects the contact form from spam (subject to Google's privacy policy).

Cookies

Necessary cookies keep the site working — your language choice, the contact form and its spam protection (Google reCAPTCHA), and remembering the cookie choice you make. They do not require your consent and are not used to track you.

Marketing cookies are only set once you have given your consent. On this site that means the newsletter pop-up (Mailchimp), which is not loaded at all until you accept it. No advertising networks and no analytics or tracking cookies are used.

Your choice is stored in your browser for up to 12 months, after which you will be asked again. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time via at the bottom of any page — withdrawing is as easy as giving consent, and takes effect immediately.

How long I keep it

Contact messages are kept only as long as needed to handle your enquiry. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, email samantha@samantha-claire.com.

You may also complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet), datatilsynet.dk.
