MAKE SPACE

MAKE SPACE wishes to promote social and community welfare by empowering underprivileged communities through music, live art, and creative projects that foster development, expression, social cohesion and regeneration.

Through music, live art, and innovative creative projects, MAKE SPACE creates accessible pathways for development, authentic expression, and social cohesion in underprivileged communities.

Registered as an NPO in South Africa, MAKE SPACE's work extends from schools to festivals, from boardrooms to retreat centres, always with the intention of making healing practices accessible and creating spaces where people can connect authentically, express freely, and grow together.

Our mission centres on regeneration — both personal and communal — recognising that when individuals heal, and communities connect, broader social transformation becomes possible.

The OORLEEF dance company

Our first project

The Battle is in the Mind

Our first project is with OORLEEF, who will be coming to Copenhagen in September 2026.

OORLEEF takes a deep dive into mental illness within the dance industry — the social, emotional, mental and spiritual strength it takes to endure the industry with triumph and success while facing the daily battles and constraints within the mind, combined with the pressures of daily life struggles.

The aim of this production is not just for awareness, but to uplift and remove the stigma associated with mental illness as a whole. This is not just a dance production but a dedication to those we have lost, to those who are fighting now, and to those who have overcome — we salute you!
