Originally from Cape Town, South Africa, Samantha comes from a performing arts background and spent 16 years in London working in physical and political theatre. Over the past two decades, her path has led her deep into the study of Kundalini yoga (qualifying as a teacher), movement therapy, shamanism, and her training in Compassionate Inquiry, the trauma therapy approach developed by Gabor Maté.

Now based in Copenhagen, Samantha runs retreats and offers 1:1 coaching and trauma healing sessions. She is mother to two engaging and curious boys, and it was the birth of her first son that inspired her to support new mothers — promoting natural home birthing and placenta encapsulation, and qualifying as a Doula.

Samantha Claire is a shamanic practitioner and trauma therapist — and also a mother, singer-songwriter, writer, and teacher of ecstatic dance and Kundalini yoga. She has been holding Deep Meditation Retreats for over 16 years and has produced and curated numerous festivals and gatherings worldwide. She is the founder of MAKE SPACE, her non-profit organisation in South Africa dedicated to working with artists from the townships and those less fortunate economically.

A vibrant love for life

Samantha's vibrant love for life has always been the driving force behind her work. She draws inspiration from 5Rhythms, contact improvisation, shamanism, tantra, Kundalini yoga and the deep teachings of the Amazon jungle, where she has spent significant time working closely with medicine plants and local tribes. Her work centres on restoring balance and trust within the body, and reconnecting to the heart as a source of inner power and wisdom.

Through multi-shamanic modalities, Samantha's approach awakens people's potential to realise their freedom and their authentic self. She believes in the power of creating a life you love — of claiming back your responsibility in order to access the inner engineering of your soul's purpose. She helps her clients awaken their own inner freedom, find purpose, build resilience and discover what it means to live authentically.

Her Deep Meditation Retreats — held across Scandinavia, Europe, Peru and South Africa — weave together a range of modalities to ensure participants feel safe, supported and profoundly transformed.
